I am self-employed, always interested in an opportunity and love a challenge.
My current workload involves:-
Working with mechanical engineers to design small/micro hydroelectric installations.
Designing, and occasionally building, control panels to meet the design criteria of the project.
I have built up a set of ‘standard’ designs and although they contain redundant equipment and functionality, in many cases, are often faster, and thus cheaper, than a ground up build.
Designing and building hardware and software solution's to collect data and interface existing systems with new equipment and systems.
Programming PLC’s and HMI’s and various SBC's to run and monitor installations.
I make code PLC modules, OO esque, but working with ladder or instruction lists which allows me to port functionality easily between installations.
Researching solutions to real world engineering challenges, along with the components necessary to build a system, that can address them.
Please feel free to give me a shout if you need anything looking into, or at...
I am based in north Wales but have sites from South Wales to Uig On Skye,
If the road, or in many cases just an internet connection, go's there I can probably help!
My home is off grid and uses a couple of Vicrton systems, integrated with Home Assistant, so I play with tech too.
